We have an opening for a Customer Marketing Manager at our corporate headquarters in Madison Heights, Michigan. Reporting to the Director of Customer Marketing, the Customer Marketing Manager will be an important member of the Customer Management team in our fast-paced, high growth and customer-centric environment. This is a hybrid position that can be remote with travel to the Madison Heights, MI headquarters several days a month.

 

The Customer Marketing Manager builds and maintains strong and influential relationships with the marketing and Customer Management teams, representing the voice of the customer internally to author the strategic sales plan and ensure the company’s sales organization is aligned with achieving Second Nature Brands goals. Lead Trade Planning for brands and all sales channels to translate brand objectives and strategies into sales and channel specific strategies and objectives that drive sustainable, profitable growth for the company. Ensure that trade spend meets objectives within brands to deliver short-term and long-term financial commitments. Facilitate the communication between sales and brand marketing. Provide the business intelligence for brands and products to the sales team to create and develop customer plans. Provide intelligence from the sales teams to the brand teams about marketplace and strategy shifts. Steward go-to-market processes ensuring that sales/customer voice is considered (customer business planning, new product launches, supply chain allocations, trade spend allocation, etc.)

 

This role will work closely with the Director of Customer Marketing and the Chief Customer Officer to ensure channel and customer strategies align with the company’s overall go to market strategies and that the sales team is executing initiatives at the highest level.

Primary Responsibilities:

·        Partner with the marketing and customer teams to deliver an annual activation strategy which is aligned to Strategic Channel Management choices, category growth drivers, customer needs and influences shoppers throughout the path to purchase. Effectively adapt and adjust activity strategy to reflect the changing customer and internal environment

·        Translate business strategies and brand objectives into sales and channel specific strategies and objectives

·        Deploy and manage trade budget and actively ensure that the business targes and sales targets are being met while holding the sales team accountable

·        Ensure ‘Go to Market’ strategies, tools and tactics are aligned across Sales and Marketing and brought into S&OP where appropriate to deliver overall business objectives

·        Manage the customer planning process to maximize channel/customer team development and deployment of annual business plans and trade strategy

·        Function as a liaison and communication link between customer teams, marketing, and general management

·        Execution of shopper marketing / POS activations

·        Establish channel and customer specific KPI’s which deliver both short and long-term physical availability opportunities and ROI is calculated and used to continuously improve future results

·        Ensure sales selling stories are tailored appropriately for assigned channel/customer and designed to maximize conversion and impact in the retailer/channel

·        Assist with day-to-day reporting requirements for the Customer Management team

Primary Requirements:

·        CPG industry experience required

·        Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field

·        5+ years of customer and/or marketing experience that includes selling, negotiating, and leveraging insights to translate brand strategies into engaging customer strategies

·        Experience working within a consumer focused, brand centric organization

·        Sales experience calling directly on retail accounts

·        Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

·        Advanced Excel knowledge

·        Knowledgeable in pulling and using syndicated data to create insights

·        Ability to understand shopper needs and behaviors and how you might apply these to drive differentiated customer solutions

·        Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to develop long term, effective and influential business relationships with multiple stakeholders
