Role and Responsibilities

A Procurement Specialist at Second Nature Brands will help to grow the business by strategically sourcing key inputs to our product lines, developing the costing for new innovation, and tracking various procurement metrics and results as we work to fulfill our vision of Making things better by nourishing people and nature. The responsibilities of a Procurement Specialist include the following:

• ·      Responsible for strategically sourcing various ingredients and packaging spends, maintaining proper forward coverage as necessary
• ·      Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to develop secondary suppliers of key ingredients for continued supply security
• ·      Lead cost savings initiatives within areas of responsibility
• ·      Track savings on strategic sourcing projects including synergies
• ·      Develop product costing for R&D and Marketing for new product launches
• ·      Develop and maintain standard PPV reporting to be tracked throughout the year
• ·      Track and report the contractual obligations for the department
• ·      Assist with day-to-day reporting, presentation preparation for the Finance/Procurement team

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• ·      Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, or related field
• ·      3-5 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, contracting, cost modeling, or other related fields
• ·      CPG industry experience preferred
• ·      Advanced knowledge of Excel is a plus
• ·      Must be results-driven, possess strong financial acumen, and be intellectually curious
• ·      Must have a strong work ethic, sound judgement, and excellent diplomacy and collaboration skills
• ·      Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• ·      Exposure to annual budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes is a plus
• ·      Strong accounting, financial reporting, and financial statement prep skills also a plus

Preferred Skills

• ·      Food Manufacturing experience a plus
