Meet Shathea Khoshaba – Shift Supervisor, Second Nature Brands

Where were you born?I was born in Baghdad, Iraq.  

How did you come to the United States? I left home in 1998 and went to Turkia (Turkey) and then Greece for two years. Then my final home was the USA.

When did you start working at Second Nature Brands?I’ve been working at Kar’s Nuts for 20 years. I was 16 years old when I started working at as a packer. After a couple years I became as operator then I was transferred to a lead position for couple years. In 2018, I was promoted to 3rd shift supervisor. I have enjoyed all these years working at Kars.

What would you like to share about your Arab heritage? I am Assyrian (from Iraq). I grew up in a big family. My ancestry came from the ancient Assyrian civilization. We still celebrate our Assyrian New Years on April 1st. This year we celebrate the year 6771. We are still speaking our own language and practice our old traditions (food, customs, dance) when we gather for any occasions. We also have our own flag. And we are Christian members of the Assyrian Church of the East established in the first century by Jesus’ gospels.
